Need help with a few things..

Recommended Posts

Hello all. My first post ^.^

I've been having a few simple problems that I need help with.

1. When flying for example a harrier (I forget the real name, but yeah), how do I lock onto ground vehicles and planes with the missiles? Planes keep shooting me down with missiles but when I try it, I keep the plane in my view for a few seconds (Like in BF2 jets) and fire them off and they just go anywhere! :(

2. When in a Apache helicopter with a gunner, the gunner will sometimes set the cannon (machine gun) off center (even when there's no enemies around), so when I try to use the gun via manual fire, I need to offset myself from the target to hit it. Is there something I'm missing here? Why doesn't it center itself when you choose manual fire..

3. Any tips for using the bombing jets? I seem to just keep flying over and over the target going

'okay so that tank is there'

*turn around for another run*

'ohfck I missed it' (I guess a TrackIR would help this though, I keep getting a bit lost. How do you keep track of where an enemy is for the next run? Do you use the mini GPS or keep looking at the map? :/

*turn around and finally line myself up with one*

*drops 3 bombs hoping for one of them to hit*

Sometimes I'll get lucky and get a direct hit and then others I'll do exactly the same thing I did before and it'll go a mile off. I don't really understand how the view thats supposed to help you guide the bomb works. The only way I can really get them to hit where I want is dive bombing them from straight above them, but then sometimes I'll not go high enough and end up plowing into them with my plane anyway.

Help a noob out. :D

Imma have a look see how youtube Arma vids do it.

1. Press Tab to cycle through all radar targets.

2. It's probably always aimed by the copilot, not sure. Issue radio command 2-0: NO TARGET.

3. you need to lock on to the target first, someone needs a laser designator on the ground.
