NeMeSiS 11 Posted January 4, 2010 Maybe there is a "clash of civilizations"?Here in Mid-Europe you very rarely have rain or thunderstorms louder than your girlfriends voice from the bedroom when hitting the Arma2 - Button ....... ;-) Thats because usually you, your girlfriend, the bedroom and ArmA2 are inside, while the rain is outside. :p
jw custom 56 Posted January 4, 2010 I wan't the feeling of being wet and cold when i play in rain and storms, as it is now you barely notice it rains. I have played games simulating winter so well i actually started to shiver a bit, that feeling i would like to experience in ArmA aswell :)
Flash Thunder 10 Posted January 6, 2010 Thats because usually you, your girlfriend, the bedroom and ArmA2 are inside, while the rain is outside. :p I FOUND BIGFOOT HES OVER HERE! :p I agree the rain is not loud enough and its barely noticable, it would be awesome if you can hear the rain hitting the roofs when you're inside a building, or the loud echoe of thunder. It needs some improvement. @JWCustom, Yeah I want the feeling of being wet/cold when in a firefight in rainstorms etc, I get that feeling when playing the first America's Army game that was awesome! :D
sic-disaster 311 Posted January 6, 2010 I spent a night sleeping outdoors this summer during a thunderstorm using only a poncho to keep me dry. I think i've only been asleep for a couple of hours, the rest of the time i was being awoken by lightningstrikes. Basically i put up one half of the poncho and strung it between two poles, and hammering the other end into the ground. Thankfully the wind didnt turn that night, so i stayed dry the entire night. After you spent a night under the open stars in a thunderstorm at it's worst though you start to appreciate your house. Still it's a pretty amazing experience, and the simple atmospherics of the rain pouring on your little piece of plastic while you are still pretty warm and dry looking at the clouded stars while occassionally the lightning exposes the surrounding valley is pretty sweet. Even if it means not sleeping that well for a night. Call me crazy. There was a tent just 50 metres away from me that wasnt being used by anyone, and it was perfectly rainproof. Still, if i had walked over to that tent and dropped my sleepingbag in there i would have gotten a lot wetter than i got from just lying under my poncho all night :)
