Aculaud 0 Posted April 4, 2002 Every time i try to join one, it goes through the normal routine, and then it just gives me an error message that says password required. It doesnt even give me the chance to enter a password, it just boots me.
BigQEd 0 Posted April 4, 2002 You are using GameSpy... and the Server you are trying join is Password Protected. I recommend ASE (All Seeing Eye) instead of GameSpy.

Aculaud 0 Posted April 5, 2002 all dedicated servers are password protected. And if they're dedicated, why do they show up on gamespy in the first place?
BigQEd 0 Posted April 5, 2002 GameSpy sees the servers by default I believe. There are MANY servers that aren't Password Protected...
sas_razor 0 Posted April 6, 2002 Gamespy sees the server if you add the line reportingIP="master.gamespy.com"; to the .cfg file. There are some servers that are not password protected and you can join these - eye allows you to add a password - GS should now do the same. I suspect admins are using locked servers on GS as some form of free advertising - (Cant believe they dont know what they are doing )
