jensr 10 Posted December 13, 2009 Hi First post here :-) I have a big problem with the game. I just had my computer repaired, dell came and replaced the motherboard and the memory since I had bluescreens. They replaced my my 4GB memory to 8G. I can play all other games except for AA2. What happens is, when I start the game, you see the carrier, you fly for 2 sec, stops, 2 sec stops(this is the intro I am talking about when you start the game, background of the menu). The graphic is just vectors, nothing on them. I uninstalled the video card drivers, but the same happend. I uninstalled the game, same happend. I am lost what to do. They only thing I that has happend to the computer is that I had more memory installed, since then you can barely see the intro. I have a dell xps 630i with dual 9800GT in SLI. I have tried also just to use on videocard, but the same thing keep happening. I am lost of what to do. I downloaded the BETA driver from a link in this forum, and tried to install, when I did, I got a window saying I had little space to install the patch, but in the background it did install it(?). I am using windows 64 Ultimate by the way. Anyone have any idea what this could be?
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 13, 2009 For a start i'd check how much room is left on your hard drive, but other than that, add -winxp to your shortcut
jensr 10 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) 678 Gb is left on the HD. That should cover it right? I just saw a video on youtube that had the same grahpics problem that i have, he also stated that he had solved by setting -xp on his shortcut. I am currently reinstalling the game, see how it will work out. here is the link to the youtube video I found, my game looks like this Edited December 13, 2009 by jensr
jw custom 56 Posted December 13, 2009 I think that problem can be solved with the -maxmem=2047 command :)
jensr 10 Posted December 13, 2009 No luck here, I have the same problem this is how my shortcut looks like now "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 33910 - winxp -maxmem=2047 more suggestions?
jw custom 56 Posted December 13, 2009 Whats your ingame Video memory setting? Try them all, Default and Low to Very high. Also try disable SLI.
jensr 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I tried several settings, from the lowest to the highest, and I tried both with disable SLI and enable SLI
-=seany=- 5 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) They replaced my my 4GB memory to 8G. This is what sticks out. Make sure the latest beta did actually install. It includes a bug fix for machines with 8gb of ram. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php If your comfortable enough doing it and the number of sticks allows for it, I would suggest trying it with just 4gb installed. Deadfast 43 Posted December 13, 2009 I downloaded the BETA driver from a link in this forum, and tried to install, when I did, I got a window saying I had little space to install the patch, but in the background it did install it(?). It's some sort of a bug with the BattlEye anti-cheat that is present in the newest patch. Ever since BE was added in one of the ArmA 1 patches its installation always gave me this error. Just click "Yes" and everything will install correctly.
jensr 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I tried to reinstall the patch, with no luck, I clicked yes on everything... When I start the game it says 1.04.59025 in the version. So..I can not install the beta patch..that sucks :-( Weird error, saying I dont have enought disc space..

Inside your ArmA 2 directory: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 You should have a link named: Launch Arma2 Beta Patch Use that to launch ArmA 2 beta with :)
