memphisbelle 99 Posted December 12, 2009 Hey guys, I´ve a weired problem, since I´ve updated my CPU today from a AMD Athlon64 4800+ X2 to a AMD PhenomII X2 550. For some reason I am no more able to change the grafic in the options menus. Anyway what I try, no changings takes its effect. I still have that staires effect even Antialiasing are on very high and so on. The Grafics card settings are adjusted to quality settings, so a good grafic should appear actually, but it doesnt. I have a HD3850 GC. Does anyone know that issues? Thanks in advance Memphis
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 12, 2009 Try going to my documents\Arma 2 directory and delete your Arma2.cfg file (don't worry, the game will create a new default one when you start ArmA 2 again, then just setup your video settings again)
memphisbelle 99 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Thank you for your reply, but that doesnt took any effect as well. The Problem still persists. I figured out, that nearyl all settings are taking their results, only anisotropic filters and Antialiasing doesnt. Anyway whether I select diactivated or maximum settings, they are always like off. Thats a bit annoying somehow. May be its an effect caused by the new CPU? Here is my total PC Config Motherboard: ASrock ALiveDual-eSATA2 CPU: AMD PhenomII X2 550@3,1GHz Memory: 4 GB DDR2RAM (PC800@400Mhz) Grafics: ATI HD3850 512MB Power supply: Enermax PS with 450 Watt OS: Win 7 HomePremium 64bit Edited December 12, 2009 by MemphisBelle
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 12, 2009 Try checking catalyst control centre (or ati tray tools) to see if you have aa/af forced off.
memphisbelle 99 Posted December 12, 2009 I did that. respective settings has been adjusted as they has to be to get a good graphics...takes no effect. So I uninstalled CCC again to check whether the problems are cause by it...Some people saying that this Controll Center is not a good solution and that it is responsible for many troubles at all. But unfortunately ATI Tray tools doesnt working for my 64Bit OS. Looks like that this issue is a not quite often appearing problem, may that be?
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 12, 2009 Could be.. Just for the sake of it, try running Arma 2 as an administrator and add -winxp to the shortcut.

memphisbelle 99 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, I solved my Problem. That damn CCC was really the responsible thing what caused my issues here. I found a solution to get the ATI Tray tool running on my Win7 64Bit System, for now its running perfect...ok...not perfect but as it should considering the Hardware configuration at all. Only for the case if someone wants to know How I got the ATITray tool running on a 64Bit System, so just follow this link. It explains all and provides further links and respective downloads. Its all in english language so fine for everyone. The only strange thing I just have is that there are still massive mouselags in the menus, not ingame, when I run the game with both cores. Sometimes its really hard to hit the menuentrie cause of the lags, but once I am ingame, everythings run fine again...does anyone have an explanation about this? Thanks for helping me... regards Memphis Edited December 13, 2009 by MemphisBelle

And in certain hardware related Forums people always say that CCC is a bad alternate solution. In some cases it causes no problems...lucky guys, but mostley it did. I can only speak for me and since I uninstalled CCC and became ATT running again, my System feels free and behaves like this...:D
