spangg 0 Posted November 25, 2009 I have a second pc what I'd like to use as a dedicated server. It's a x2 4400+ with 1GB ram. The Internet I have is 18Mb/down and 1.3Mb/up. These are the true speeds. 1. Is it enough for a server running mostly warfare type games for no more than 2 people? If not, put more mem could help? 2. What settings I need to edit in the config files to prevent lag when scoping and to let it run as smooth as possible? Thank you in advance.

spangg 0 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) thank you, but what I was after is how to configure the maxmsgsend minerrortosend MaxSizeGuaranteed ... values on a 18Mb/1.3Mb connection as I am having lag through scope and also wondering if the system spec (x2 4400+/1GB) enough to run warfare type missions and if not , a mem upgrade can help? I remember on ARMA 1 the server fps went down to 10-11 sometimes. But I think it may be better with arma 2 since it can use both cores. cross 1 Posted November 25, 2009 You'll definitely need more than 1GB ram. Have 3GB. I assume it is Dual core so should be enough. Are you going to share the bandwidth or will it be dedicated to the server. Even if it is for the dedi only 1.3 is a bit too slow. You can try this in your cfg. I made up just now for your approximate BW & setup. Post here or PM me if you have bad performance. MinBandwidth=262144; MaxBandwidth=1300000; MaxMsgSend = 256; MaxSizeGuaranteed = 512; MaxSizeNonguaranteed = 128; //Also try 256 MinErrorToSend = 0.005; MaxCustomFileSize=0;

Alanthegreat 10 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) No you do not. You have a Great system I had a AMD 2.1 Ghz single core with 1.5 gig of ram and Window xp with a DSL connection and had people connect from Australia and we have 4 people playing warfare with decent frame rate, and low to no lag. know because my down was 1.5 mgbs and up 800 mgbs you will have no problem with 5 people the problems is not the CPU it is going to be the Band width so trust me it will work and then you will do what I did and find you want more people want to play with you and you buy a server and make a web site lastsightonline.net.
