I need help with Analog Throttle

Recommended Posts

So i set it back up with how the beta patch says its fixed for choppers and i was wondering.....

*seems i need my throttle at around 80% to EVEN begin moving!

*how do i apply brakes so i can turn on teh spot with the planes?

Have i got it setup right? i turned analog throttle on n made them the throttle stick of course and then turned off the old throttle and took the buttons out for that.

thanks for any help :)

You expect too much.

the allocation of functions has not changed.

The regulators are now only analog queried.

Throttle and brakes are still on the same axis.

so its not actual analogue yet then?

how do i apply brakes to turn on the spot?

There are no "Brakes".

the first half of the controller axis is your brake, the rest of it is the throttle.

neutral position is at 50%.

the only difference to the old style of control is that you now have analogue control of "power"...before it was just a height or cruise selector, not a throttle or collective.

My chopper never had brakes LOL, pull back on the stick untill your speed decrease's..... I set my analog throttle to increase throttle and ignored the brake since choppers don't have them, neither do airplanes in the sense of a analog break only full or none on fighter aircraft. Gliders and Airliners use spoilers that can be adjusted for drag there may be some eceptions to this rule but the aircraft in ArmA 2 do not seem to have functioning air brakes.

I would say just bind a button to it. In FSX i dont have rudder peddles that also have toe brakes (where you press both peddles at ounce to brake) i use a button on my joystick. It works just fine. I guess I with all the Flight Sim experience i have I just haven't found a need for a brake in airplanes... in real life you taxi about as fast as you can walk..... so if you follow that advice you will find you don't get your self in situations that are hard to deal with. I fly the A-10 alot and it will almost turn on a dime if you are stopped and then ease your throttle forwarded and then turn sharp..... takes a little time but not to bad.... BTW what joystick do you have?

A workaround is using ppjoy as input device for ArmA2, disable the real joystick, and remap the original devices full axes to ppjoy semi-axes through glovepie.

ppjoy seems to be available for 64bit now, don't know if glovepie will run on 64. Everything works on XP32 for me.

In-game would be better anyway. Please vote or comment my request: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/3546
