Was wondering how i would go on opening and editing a existing weapon, to add a silencer or change the texture of a weapon? We have played with RH M4/M16 mod, but would like something like the SBR in black and with a silencer... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
gms 0 Posted November 24, 2009 RH's models are binarized it means what you can't edit the model in the O2. You can to wait for new RH release to get that... BUT if you can't to wait, you can add it by yourself ;) Open a model in HEX editor, replace a path and model name like this (count of character must be same): Save it. Next make a silencer in the o2, when it is done call it "silencer1_proxy.p3d" (like name in the model. Warning, a path must be correct!) Pack the updated model and the silencer model, replace exist (don't forget backup it). Start the game. Enjoy. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

gms 0 Posted November 24, 2009 You can open a MLOD p3d, it is unbinarized. There are all MLODs from Arma1, ones from a2 yet not released. Each addonmaker who has made his model from scratch or with BIS parts, he has a right to keep MLOD and does not to publish it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The method is't universal and it give a ugly result :D I just changed a link to a muzzle flash model on a silencer one, see the screens, usually a name of a flash is "zasleh", I replaced path in link to my path and change name of link, used same count of charachters. Some weapon has't a flash model in first person view, a BIS weapon has't ones at all.
