jasonnoguchi 11 Posted November 10, 2009 Does lowering 3D_Performance in the Arma.cfg file make the game run smoother? Mine reads 6849.0000000 what does lowering it to 3849.0000000 really do? I seem to be getting a slightly better framerate doing that while didn't see any difference in picture quality.
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted November 12, 2009 Does anyone have any experience with tweaking this file? I tried raising and lowering the 3D_Performance and refreshrate numbers with mixed results... still testing. anyone has any conclusive experience to share please? zachhox 10 Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) No you can set it high, but these are actually more important. In any case you when you connect as client you can set the graphics or 3D performance to anything you like, for yourself. You know what I mean?! Quote MaxMsgSend=<limit>; MaxSizeGuaranteed=<limit>; MaxSizeNonguaranteed=<limit>; MinBandwidth=<bottom_limit>; MaxBandwidth=<top_limit>; MinErrorToSend=<limit>; MaxCustomFileSize=<size_in_bits>; Edited November 12, 2009 by zachhox
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted November 12, 2009 I see... so 3D_Performance and Refreshrate does nothing then?
zachhox 10 Posted November 13, 2009 Btw, for dedicated server or just as yourself? As yourself, of course it matters, its your graphic settings, the higher you go the slower it would run, usually, depending on the card and specs of course. But still... I saw you posting about a dedicated server :D. But if not for dedicated server, do all that in game and try.
