COOP Issues

Recommended Posts

My friend and I just got ArmA 2 this weekend and have been trying COOP. Unfortunately we've ran into a few issues that have prevented us from continuing the game passed Mission " Amphibious Assault ". After we reach the bottom and join the rest of the soliders, nothing happens. We're all just standing around doing nothing. I remember in Single Player the game advanced automaticly at this point. What can we do to continue playing?

I've also noticed a few other issues that have caused us to not be able to finish certain missions. For example, if my friend grabs the Laser on "Into the Storm" they will discredit us for not getting the laser and the objects don't continue when its time to use the laser..

Just a quick couple thoughts. I've played almost none of the content that came with the game, but I know that some reviews said it was kinda buggy.

But don't be discouraged: the game is awesome (as you may know by now). It really shines with the editor, and lots of people have made great missions and posted them for download (check out Armaholic.com for that). I play almost strictly coop, my own missions and those others have made, and I have found many excellent ones out there. So don't get too bogged down in the commercial content, just grab some new missions here.

Thank you for the reply. We will look into the other missions. But Im really interested in completing the campaign with a buddy. Is there absolutely no fixes or anyone addressing the issues in coop mode for campaign?

You're right, this is a great game, but would be so much better if we can complete the coop mode for campaign.

Also, the missions in the link you provided that users created, are they campaigns or just a single mission? I like the fact of continuing the mission as a story. Know what I mean?

My advice is to avoid the campaign.

Future missions are just as buggy, if not more so, than the one you mentioned.

Worse, though, is the network performance. In my experience, any time the game had to be loaded (which was occasionally when one of our team died, but more often because of a bug) we would get desync problems and would have to start the mission from scratch. This seems to be a particularly common problem with the larger, later missions.

If you do decide to try the campaign anyway, best of luck. :)
