jasonnoguchi 11 Posted October 25, 2009 I tried the search function and found no answer to my situation. I just bought and installed ARMA:Gold , yes, the first version. I am on a laptop Sony Vaio 1.83ghz 1GB 200GB 965GM. The game load and run on high details setting with smooth frame rate after applying game booster. The problem is, the foreground texture doesn't seem to load at all and the ground about 5m around my character is like all grey or white. The rest of the environment is perfect. I tried all graphic settings ingame but nothing changes that. PLEASE HELP. :(
.kju 3244 Posted October 25, 2009 Latest GPU drivers? What ingames settings? What launch params? Tried maxmem?
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Latest GPU Drivers installed. OS : Vista 32 Startup parameter : -mod=DBE1 -maxmem=512 (also tried with 384) AA: Off Anisotrophic : Highest (tried with Off and still problem persist) Texture : Low (only options are low and very low) Post processing : Very Low (tried on very high and still problem persist) Object Detail : Low Resolution: Tried with multiple resolutions and problem persists Other memory managers : Advanced Systemcare Pro with Smart Ram There are certain small view angles where the ground about 5 to 10 m around my character looks ok but when I move my mouse out of those small angles, the textures on the ground 5 to 10 m around my character turns white or grey but gameplay is ok and all textures further than 5 to 10 m is ok as well. Its just that white patch beneath my character following it like a squarish spotlight. Edited October 25, 2009 by jasonnoguchi
franze 196 Posted October 26, 2009 Use the ArmA Update Guide to update to the latest version and see if the problem persists.

jasonnoguchi 11 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) anyone please? when I am in 3rd person perspective, the situation becomes clearer, it seems like the ground texture from a straight line directly beneath my character to behind is not rendering. Update: upgraded by 1gb Ram to 2.5gb Ram today but still the problem persists... definitely not a Ram issue. Graphics card? I am running intel 965gm. jasonnoguchi 11 Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) After almost a month of playing ArmA, I found out what my problem is at last! I read from another thread that the ground texture appears in high detail in the patch up close for about 10m and then suddenly turns low detail after crossing a "line" see pic at http://www.picfront.org/d/3s9LQRWeCNX/PROPER_C_Clutter_SAP_SgtAce_03.jpg . I realised that my "white shadow" patch is exactly that high detail patch up close for about 10m. It is white because my 10m high detail patch isn't showing. Anyone any solutions? Is there anything I can do to disable the high detail ground texture within that 10m range? Edited November 15, 2009 by jasonnoguchi
