New campaing !

Hi there.

Just wanted to inform that my little team is creating a new campaing for OFP... Malden's Civil War. The campaing start in 1986 and there is two sides in this campaing.

North-Malden vs. communist South-Malden

Why not put an assasination mission in there somewhere? A group of Black Ops go behind enemy lines, take out a high ranking enemy guy, and sneak back to their own side.

Good idea for a campaign, by the way.

Well, we planned that the sides are Resistance and Reds. We are making it a long campaing (20-30 missions) so it's gonna take some time to finish it.

Yup certainly does sound like a premise with promise Incursions into enemy lines, getting back to safety before you're outnumbered, patrolling the front lines, perhaps some officer sniping while you're at it, could well be fun

whohoo! commie killing! just a suggestion: make the supplies a little limited. it's no fun when dozens of tanks and choppers magically appear out of nowhere for an attack. being outnumbered and outgunned is often more enjoyable.

Lordzack you are right. We were planning that. You even have outnumbered enemy. first missions will be easy but as far as you get their going to be tougher. South has more tanks, choppers and men than North.

I kinda dreamed up a little story, I dunno maybe you like it....

July 1986

As the last NATO forces are preparing to leave Malden, Tensions between the Democratic Northern Republic of Malden (DNRM) and the Southern Socialist Union (SSU)are rising. In August, a street battle in La Trinite breaks out and NATO forces are caught in the crossfire. 13 American soldiers are killed and dozens are wounded. NATO promptly expidites the evacuation of Malden, leaving the Maldeners to their own fate.

As war seems more and more imminent, a conference attempts to divide the country along a border between Houdan and Dourdan. Both sides agree.

The South quickly persuades the USSR to aid its newly formed, but poorly trained army. The North is outraged at the South recieving T-72 and Hind helicopters. The DNRM quickly forms a ragtag army of veteran resistance fighters who had fought the Russians during the 1985 war. The SSU sees this and quickly strikes. The DNRM puts up fierce resistance but they lack to weapons to resist the South's tanks. In the early morning hours of Sep 23rd 1986, Southern T-72s assault Dourdan. The North calls for a cease fire and wants and end to all hostilities. The Northern Government evacuates Larche and moves operations to a remote village in the Far North.

The UN condemns the actions but is hesitant to respond for fear over another bloody conflict only a year after the previour one. The US backs down, after sustaining over 200 dead and wounded in the conflict in 1985, the are not eager for another fight.

In October, the South has been stopped cold by determined Northern Troops... In desparation, the South resorts to using their tactical SCUD missles on civilian targets. The North surrenders only two days later. They are not treated as prisoners and they are shot on the spot where they surrender.

Outraged, the UN intervenes, Airstrikes from carrier based aircraft disable vast quantities of Southern Equipment and American Marines land a month later to secure the abandoned airfield.

The US has done what it has always been trying to avoid, another conflict on the Malden Islands...

Cloney: That's a great story! But.. We already have a the story ready so that's not going to work anymore... My team and i have talked about after we have completed this campaing we MAYBE start building a new campaing about Everon's civil war. But first this campaing. You're a great story creator Cloney! Maybe, if you want, we could ask you to join us IF we create that Everon's civil war campaing.

And now my other announcement. We have decided that the campaing is atleast 20 missions long. Perhaps 30 missions.

And the third thing . We have published two new screenshots in here and here.

In the other image you can see North-Malden's soldiers attacking . As you see some even dont have proper uniforms and weapons (Kozlice).

Well, "Soviet Theme" on the game is quite good for marches but it only lasts about ten seconds. Maybe if there was some way to loop it?...

Hmmm...how about this for a mission:

A small Northern camp is under attack from the south and a Chopper (An MI17, stolen from the south) has to drop off an infantry sqad. On the way, it is shot down. Most of the infantry sqad survive and have to make it, through enemy territory, to the nearest friendly town...and when they get there, it has been taken by the enemy, so they have to get back to another town.

OR:

once they reach the town that has been taken by the enmey, they are captured. The next mission is then an "Escape from Prison" style mission.

How about it?

Or how about this?

A small squad of Southern Commandoes has succeeded in turning the civilian population of a border town against you. You must enter the town and pacify it before the citizens get weapons and rise up against you.

This mission will consist of hunting down commandos in a city. Then a civilian will tip you off to the possible location of the Commando camp. You must assault the camp and take a prisoner and find out what the commandos were really doing in that town.
