Real aiming for long range shooting

Recommended Posts

Hi

I would like to see ( in a next patch or ACE mod) a real improvment for long range shooting.

It will be fun an real to use the scope like it is designed to be used.

The last ace mod in Arma#1 you have had a scope with click and each click have given a distance ( ex: 2 click=200m) which is an improvment but absolutly not real.

For long range shooting you need to estimate, do a little trigo/ math to shoot properly with your mils dot. You need to estimate the MOA ( minute of angle) and know the correct value of your dot.

Each scope in reality is writed in 1/4 moa or 1/8 moa ( ex for 1/4 moa= 4 clicks for 1 moa)

I would like to see real dots on each reticule: IRL on M24 reticule scope you can find round dot (0.22" Mils) and on M40 usmc leupold reticule you can find oblong dots with a value of 0.25mils. Today you've got round dots on the M40's scope which is incorrect.

It would be great to simulate, with all this, the real marksman or sniper way of combat and difficulties which come with

Thank you all

ps: excuse me for my bad English cause i am French

Google 'GMJ sight adjustment', and use something like the 31st MEU sight mods (originally from Nonwonderdog). Works great. You have a choice of scope patterns, all authentic.

Works great, the maths seems to work out, easy enough to install, makes long range shooting easier (really!) and more fun. IMHO.

Keep an eye out for the release of the full conversion mod ACE2 as well. Will let you set windage as well as elevation plus use the bipods to get a steady aim. ;)

Be sure to read everything here: ACE2 Feature list

Short youtube vid of a fraction of features in ACE2:
