Uly 10 Posted October 10, 2009 Hey guys, really like your guys modding community. I'm planning on playing through the Red Harvest campaign, and have collected a few nice mods from these forums over the last few days and was hoping I'd be able to play through the campaign on coop with their improvements. I read one little tidbit on a post, (cant find the thread again) that mentioned Red Harvest will ignore any mods whatsoever. I've tested it, and it seems to be the case, but I just wanted to double check, cause it'll bug the hell out of me otherwise. Is it possible to use mods, such as Sounds of War in the Red Harvest campaign in single player, or cooperative? Thanks! : ) keep up the good work BIS and cool mod peeps
JuggernautOfWar 1 Posted October 10, 2009 Yes. When you enable a mod it's enabled. Period. This is why if you enable a mod and try to join a server that doesn't like mods you get kicked rather than having the mod disabled.
PuH 0 Posted October 11, 2009 What he said^ Also, to get a addon to work in the campaign you need to make sure it replaces original arma content (most sound mods does this)
That guy 10 Posted October 11, 2009 The campaign will not ignore a mod. but in this case lets differentiate between "mods" and "addons" a mod changes something in the game, adds new functionality, AI routine, replacement pack etc (SLX, soon to be ACE2, some AI mods) an addon is just that. new gun, vehicle, character model. you can only use new vehicles and stuff in the campain if some one went through and added that content in. however, if some new weapons were added to the default US weapon crates (for example), then yes you can use them. mods yes addons, not so much
