nymon 10 Posted October 4, 2009 Just bought the game and installed it. When I click start from the autorun I am given a dialog titled 'EC' with the message 'EC : 5570'. REAL DESCRIPTIVE, heh. So I uninstalled, reinstalled. Still didn't work. So I updated it to 1.04, still nothing. Any ideas?
Bulldogs 10 Posted October 4, 2009 Heh.. that's very odd being that the error "EC : 5570" is an EADownloader error. Basically it means that your EA Downloader is corrupted and you need to redownload it and reinstall it. The odd part is that EADownload has absolutely nothing to do with Arma 2 as EA has nothing to do with Arma 2. Try uninstall and/or reinstall EADownloader from the EA website just in case. Are you using a DVD version or Metaboli/d2d/download version?
nymon 10 Posted October 4, 2009 I just purchased the DVD from Best Buy. I found all the same hits for EA download manager as you did, and so I figured what the hey and reinstalled it. No dice. I found info about securom not liking daemon tools, so I removed that. Still no; very frustrating.
nymon 10 Posted October 4, 2009 This worked, but seems a little ill-designed... Hello. Could you please search your harddrives for a file called 'Paul.dll'. Please also try to rename the Paul.dll (if one is found) into Paul.old. After the file is renamed, please try to launch your application again and let us know your results. Best regards, SecuROM Support Team I found the dll in my installation of Rail Simulator, and I suspect that as long as I have that file renamed I will not be able to run Rail Simulator. What are your system specs? You might try updating your firmware for you DVD drive(s). But first try renaming it and see if that works. If not you can always change it back Edited October 4, 2009 by No Use For A Name
