froggyluv 2136 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Since I've had Arma2 I've never had any luck with this .RPT file which seems critical in determing the cause of conflicts and ctd's. Firstly, I'm not even sure this file was ever created properly. I've got the German/downloaded version of Arma2 and most people seem to have their rpt file in a 'Documents and Settings' folder of which I do not have. I was previously running Vista 64 bit under a User name 'Greg' but then moved to Administrator as not to have to enable permission for everything. Currently using W7 beta. Long story short, since i do not have Document and Settings folder, I searched my system for .RPT files and was finally able to find 'Arma_Server.rpt' under Users/greg/appdata/local/Arma -so this is actually for my old Arma1??? There is no listing for .rpt files for my Arma2 this whole time so how can I create one manually as I have been having alot of conflict/ctd's recently? _Hurricane 0 Posted October 1, 2009 Your .rpt file can be found on this path: C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData[hidden folder]\Local\ArmA 2 - of course, words between brackets should be replaced or are descriptive. It could be that [YourName] is the "Default" folder, as you're running it with the Administrator account.
froggyluv 2136 Posted October 1, 2009 Hey thanks! Yes it was well hidden there. Wonder why it doesn't show up plainly when you search for it? Ah well, another thread to drift into the abyss...
Snake Man 407 Posted October 1, 2009 You should use -profiles parameter when launching ArmA 2, then you can control which directory the users\ dir is saved. Its oldschool OFP way to save the dir into <arma_root>\ as its so lame to have it located in some windows spaces-in-path-name directory. My parameter is: arma2.exe -mod=beta -showScriptErrors -nosplash -world=empty -profiles=d:\ArmA2 This way I have d:\ArmA2\Users\ dir and d:\ArmA2\arma2.RPT file. Hope that helps.
