katdogfizzow 13 Posted October 12, 2009 Decap has it working. Its Rex who please needs help from a moderator. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He cannot connect to any server bc he is auto disconnected. Again, he has unsitalled reinstalled Arma2 TWICE from Steam, reinstalled steam, played with and WITHOUT router and played with and WITHOUT a firewall. Nothing seems to work. Apparently someone with some sort of advanced knowledge needs to help. this happened only after the patch. :confused: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Duboix 10 Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) because there is no detailed report(os,firewall,router),i cann't help you,but most probable cause is from the firewall software,try to delete old rules and add new one,some firewall might be having a checksum into the arma2 executable,every new version of course it has different checksum on the exe.If you are using windows firewall try to add arma2 executable on the exception list,try to do this first : does these problem occurred after you updated to 1.04?if yes do you remember installing any new software that might have something to do authorizing internet line?like cfos speed,net limited,bandwidth controller? and try to do port forwarding and DMZ(demilitarized zone) to your lan ip,check this site : http://portforward.com/ Edited October 12, 2009 by Duboix Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
rowdied 44 Posted October 12, 2009 vaguley related - problem since updating to 1.04 - I game generally with 2 other gamers - one in another city - the other in the same house with the same cable modem through a router - since 1.04, only 1 of us in the same house can connect to a internet game at same time (LAN no problems) - either of us can connect to with other city gamer but when the 2nd in same house tries - you can connect then after about 30 sec - you are disconnectedthis worked no probs before 1.04 and on other games still OK - looking at router/windows logs to see if it's decided to do something "new" - so far nothing just in case others have had this prob annoying !! (all copies of game are legit - mine is steam the other 2 are DVD versions) I've had friends with this same problem before patch 1.04 and it was caused by both computers using the same ip address. They were using a wireless connection with 2 computers and an xbox hooked to the internet. When they disconnected the xbox and restarted their comps, they were then able to connect to my server. I have 2 separate ip's assigned to me for this exact problem you described above and here in Canada shaw gives you 2 different ip's and if you want a third you have to pay for it.
