Ludovico Technique 0 Posted August 28, 2009 So I like explosives in my missions, but here's the thing; I've noticed that they have a very nasty habit of killing everything within a fairly arbitrary distance regardless of intervening objects. Can anybody tell me how explosions are handled in Arma 2 and how cover works against them, presuming it does. Basically I'm wondering if there is physically any way at all to protect against even a mortar barrage, they seem massively lethal even against dug in troops. randir14 10 Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) I don't think it's possible to take cover from large explosions, the area of effect seems to ignore everything around it. Smaller explosions are different, I did some tests with M203 grenades and effective cover was anything thicker than a concrete wall. The Hesco Barriers worked well, I don't know if they'd stop a missile or tank shell though. Edited August 28, 2009 by randir14

It's like there's a sort of sphere of doom, and if you're in it you're toast.
