UAV Questions from Singleplayer

I can't seem to deploy the UAV effectively for reconnaissance. My problem is fixing the camera on one spot so I can focus in on that area. Can you directly control the UAV? Any helpful tips for using it?

Note: I started another thread similiar to this on a broader scale but it is too far gone with no responses.

Apparently someone is working of a proper UAV, the one in game is rather difficult to use to put it lightly.

Yeah, a gyro-stabilized camera should have been a prerequisite before launching the game.
