AI constantly stopping and getting binoculars out

Im playing the campaign and for some reason my squad have all started constantly getting their binoculars out every few seconds ? why is this ? its becoming quite annoying !

It's something that's been there since OFP. It's just them using it to scan for enemies. I agree, it's annoying, but to fix it just remove the Binoculars from their gear via the map screen.

Are they set to danger or to watch horizon/direction?
