British Royal Marine Commandos

With the permission and guidance from StalkerGB we've got a working version of his Arma 1 RM Commando's working with 'minor' amounts of errors. Posting up errors apart from the ones below would be greatly appreciated by StalkerGB and myself. Hope these go to good use whilst better versions are worked on as these are ported and could look much better now if done just for Arma 2.

Current Errors

UKF Weapons not loadable (I've ported UKF weps)
Cannot load medic_bag_nohq.paa texture (Simple fix)

Hoofing effort fellas. Are there any gravs with desert shirts & Osprey, or is it just the Op Jacarna models in here?

These are the 2001 release but I can speak to Stalker and see if he will be willing to release the unbinarized p3ds for the ones you are looking for .... if you are intrested in them ... I am sure he would allow them to be released if he knows they would get used?

Great, now all we have to do is wait for the new ArmA 2 models from Stalker. =P

I've got word that he has overcome a problem stopping him from completing the 4Rifles addon!

Yes. In 2001/02 on Op Jacarna when 40 & 45 were in the mountains. It's also now being used by some lads on Herrick when they're going into the Green Zone.

lol it does not make any sense to me but it looks cool

and are full desert and woodland coming whit the weapons that would be awsome

That would be for Stalker to decide if he wanted to release the unbin files.

Using the mod folder method launched from an armaII launcher.. but can't get these to show either in the armoury or the editor.. I'm quite used to using this method and it works with all my other mods, but can't get these ingame.. Any hints on what I'm doing wrong chaps?

I thought I may as well post this up...

A few bugs I've found.

You can strangely move the soldiers if you're playing as a one of them British models.

I could run into this LAV, but only with the British model. (Didn't test it with any other vehicles.)

The arms are twisting on some weapons and in some positions. A bit like what Stalker was having with the new models.

And the AI don't seem to be reporting in on the hud.. They speak as if I wasn't in the group, but next to it.

Other than all that, this is great work. =)

Arma 2 Root/@Mod/Addons/ inside that lob the one .pbo file then load up the game and under BLUFOR you should have a selection British Army then in there is all the troops!

The first, and possibly second issue is cause by the geometry AFAIK, the mass is set too low so stuff can be pushed around, the old geo lod is on these models too.

The arms thing has been fixed on my new units, can quickly add the fix to these too.

The fourth bug is to do with the radio in ARMA 2 being a seperate entity, in ARMA1 you couldnt add/remove it from your inventry but in ARMA 2 you can so it needs to be added to the config

Not sure about the mod folder issue, i run mine from @Brit/AddOns and its fine, i manually added the mod path to the shortcut though

The funny thing is, I've just gone back to the same mission. And the radio thing is working..

EDIT - Didn't realise that I had a USMC unit in the group. >_>

EDIT again - Can you explain why I cannot enter any vehicles either? (They're not locked)

Thanks for the port lads. Some points to work on please.

1) Use tags for pbo and class naming.

2) Use pal2pace of the a2 tools suite to compress the textures. Saves 40% size.

3) Get the MLOD and binarize them again with a2 tools.

4) Use a model.cfg: http://pastebin.jonasscholz.de/128

5) Use a correct config: http://pastebin.jonasscholz.de/127

6) Fill out the header of the config with your details.

7) Split config from model+textures to a separate pbo.
