Mp games, a few things that are really pissing me

After you die, can you please program something faster than a dammed DOVE!!!. It takes 5 minutes to go from place to place.

And, if you join while a game is playing, why cant you spectate? I mean really, wtf is the point of sitting around all that time, you should beable to see some action isntead of having to join several servers to find one that is still waiting for players.

Spectating as an option would be nice, but should never be allowed automatically. In competition matches, many groups use 3rd party software to communicate (BattleCom; RogerWilco, etc.). Spectating would allow an unfair advantage in intelligence.

Also, spectating puts an additional load on the server which could adversely affect the contestants.

Ahem. not to bust balls, but it is a seagull. Id personally like it if you could shoot the seagulls. After I kill my pals, they always get in the way of my iron sights lol

And if its a cometition match, just lock the server and give the password to only compteting teams.

There should be an possibility to join running MP game. If someone crashing (anyone know it is not too unusual :-) ) and startup game there isn't possibility to join match again (of course with some permission from player's side) . Frustrating.

I would care about NOT PLAYING a game in progress. im just tired of sitting there at my multiplayer screen with it telling me how long the maps has been played, the players, etc. But why can't you spectate? It can't be that hard to program.... right?

It doesn't matter if you want to spectate or play... the rules are the same.

1. Server starts

2. Map is loaded/downloaded

3. Scripts are run, triggers are triggered etc.

4. Buidings and other things are destroyed

If you join after the game has started you would start on a fresh map where buildings weren't destroyed, where scripts had not been executed and triggers had not been trigered. Of course the server could send you all this information when you join... but OFP is not programmed that way. It is not because it is impossible. Tribes 2 has just as much information to send to joining players (destroyed generators, bases, vehicle stations etc.). Joining a T2 games does take quite a while. BIS would have to redo so much to change this so it is not going to happend... Hope they make JIP for OFP2 if that is ever released.

The lack of JIP was a big factor in my entire squad binning Flashpoint and Returning to Deltaforce 2 to await Team Factor to see if thats will be better.

Flashpoint had the potential to be fantastic online with the ammount of varied roles prople could have, but its all lost because of the MP code.

An objective based battle to rage for days if JIP was available, but usually a map get running, 1/2 the players dont like it and leave and your left with a game full of bots.

The Perfect Body, with one leg chopped off.

What a shame.

That's why when I host I only play with friends, of course everyone doesn't agree 100% about what mission to play but they don't act like children and leave because they don't get their own way smile.gif
