scrapser 11 Posted August 11, 2009 I have Arma with patch 1.14 using WinXP 32 and have a dual boot custom PC with a DFI X58 board, 6 gigs of OCZ DDR3 RAM, a BFG GTX280. I also have an NEC 24" high end monitor. My power supply is 1000W. nVidia drivers are current release version (190.38). All my games scream except this one. BTW, I know WinXP 32 only sees 4 gigs of ram. I tried playing the tutorial and got through the physical training (game was up and running about 5 minutes) when all of a sudden my screen slowly started bleeding weird colors then everything started fading until I had a totally white screen. I have never played this game and wonder if it's worth trying to fix or just go for Arma2? I've read a few posts that suggest the later nVidia drivers have introduced weirdness with the graphics and maybe the beta 1.15 would fix my problem. Funny, I remember trying this game about a year ago and it ran fine. It just seemed really complicated to control and I wasn't up to it back then. But now I want to dedicate some time to learning it if I can get it working. This does not bode well for Carrier Command...one of my all time favorite games from the Amiga days. Can anyone help me? Thanks much
desertjedi 3 Posted August 11, 2009 Don't use the 190 series Nvidia drivers. Use 186.18. They're great - and you should be fine.
scrapser 11 Posted August 11, 2009 Thanks...I installed them and everything appears to be fine. I hope the next new driver version addresses this issue.
desertjedi 3 Posted August 12, 2009 I hope the next new driver version addresses this issue. I wouldn't be so concerned about the next driver set...the 186.18s rock my world! Glad you got it sorted out.
