Editing / Scripting test environment

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wanted to try and setup the following test environment that is running on the same PC :-

2 x Clients ( In windowed mode )

1 x Dedicated server

This would be perfect for testing and fixing multiplayer missions ( especially JIP problems... )

Is this possible and if so how do you do it?

Thanks.

Sorry. I forgot to say that I have got the server working and 1 client. But I can't join the server with a second client... I get a message about FADE.

My game is a legal copy by the way.

Just a thought.

I dunno if this is possible, I haven't tried.

But what if you create a sample mission using the basic units and vehicles available in the demo.

Then start your dedicated server and join that server from the demo client?

I am pretty sure they are different versions and are not compatible.

Well then you got the answer right there... You cant do it because FADE wont allow you. Which sucks :/

It is possible to avoid using EXECS system by running two ArmA clients and joining the same server on your PC (could hurt performance). You do changes in one program and switch to the other see the if those changes are broadcast.

Could you explain how to do this?

Many thanks.

Sorry I just read your post about reportIp = "<>"; will that remove the duplicate client check then? I can't test at the moment.
