MagnumPI 0 Posted July 24, 2009 It lags a lot in single player mode. system specs: Phenom2 X4 3.0ghz, Radeom HD 4770 video card
MJK-Ranger 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Another reason for lagging is the HD. Best performance will be an Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB, 10000RPM, SATA, 3 Gb/s, 16MB. You will notice your HD LED are working like hell when you are entering a city. So an HD with 10000 RPM will load the pbo's more faster than a 7200 RPM HD. Didn`t see that requirement on the back of the box. Not strictly true either. An ssd drive would be even faster if you get the right one. Also the game does not detect a computers performance correctly and apply the correct settings for it to run smoothly.I don`t know what the cfg line 3D_Performance is but after testing and changing this number many many times it varies how much the game stutters by a huge amount. My game now runs smoothly in all conditions after changing this to a non auto detected number.Sometimes on auto detct, it even applies a negative number on this line and yet if deleted another time it will apply a totally different positive number.God knows why. DaveG 0 Posted July 24, 2009 ^^ Indeed. Plus (nit-picking here) 3GB/s is the maximum transfer speed speed of the SATA interface. On average those drives can read at about 100MB/s (I have the 300GB version).
