Modified config file on stock install

I *just* reinstalled Flashpoint (UK version), applied 1.20, 1.30 and then 1.46 patches. I go to join a server and it immediately reports that I have a modified config file! WTF!? I have not reinstalled any addons, any 3rd party maps, all I have on my box are the basics of OFP and yet I still get the modified config message, making people think I am cheating.

Maybe there is something with how I configure my controls that lead to this message, I dunno. How can I remove this error when I start, so some server admins don't think I'm cheating and try to kick/ban me?

If you have a virgin Opf then that would most likely indicate that the server you connected to us running Satchel's sound addon along with Wright's fix, nothing you need to worry about, you have two options, install the addon yourself, find a different server to play on

That might not be the problem.  I got that modified config file message too (on V1.42) even though I had no addons whatsoever.  The server I was playing on didn't have any addons installed on it either, or else a lot more people would have been getting that message.  When I installed the 1.46 patch, the problem went away immediately, and I have not gotten that modified config message ever since.  I still don't know why I got that message before......it must not have been checking the config file accurately; Suma said they were hoping to get a fix for it in the 1.46 patch and it sure looks like they fixed whatever was causing my problem...or else why would it dissapear immediately with V1.46.

I had totally uninstalled OFP before and the message still showed up....but right when I patched to 1.46, it dissapeared, and I had not uninstalled before patching to 1.46. Forgot to add: I always play on the same server, and I had just recently got that modified config file message before I patched to 1.46. Never got the message again with V1.46, that's why I'm 99% sure it wasn't a problem with the server having any addons. More people would have been getting the modified config message too if the server had any addons.

I got the same message here. I could play on the server, but I kept getting that same message about modified config file.

i got the same message in peliporti server.... finland

Hence i got some addon but none actvated (snow addon, UK trooper, and dynamic sound (but in a separated folder from the addons folder)).

I guess i would be a server-side pb... maybe the server admin is too suspiscious and get the higher level of detect (if it exist at once)... no matter i could play

same happens to me... did a complete reinstall of OFP and still getting the "semp uses a modifyed config" messeage. The server doesnt have the addon installed, so what causes this problem ?

note: i dont have any addons anymore in my /addon folder besides the few from the official patches.

This message is simply result of your config being different from server config. If server admin installed some different config, you will see this message.

If you are using 1.46, you may have any addons installed and you will never see it.
