Kyle_K_ski 1 Posted July 14, 2009 Is it possible to transfer scripts originally written for ArmA so that they'll work in OFP? The three scripts that I'm drooling over have to do with dynamically placing AI on top of, inside of, and patrolling within structures. Having abandoned the creation of 4 OFP missions in the past dealing with urban ops, I know for a fact what a pain in the butt it is to figure out what position is where in a building, assign it to an occupant, and then set the probability that the occupant will even appear in the mission. The problem, of course, is that said method of placing AI is not all that dynamic at all, and, as I've said, extremely time consuming. Here are links to the scripts that I'm referring to. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated! It seems like once OFP's AI are set in their positions within a building, they STAY there with their facings and won't hardly budge an inch even when it's obvious they should. Thanks for your time and consideration on these matters! :)
[GLT] Legislator 66 Posted July 14, 2009 It's not possible. OFP doesn't support SQF. SQS scripts may not work if they use scripting commands that weren't introduced in OFP.
rellikki 7 Posted July 14, 2009 SQF syntax was introduced in OFP: Resistance, but it's not 100% compatible with ArmA, because there are a lot of new commands.
Kyle_K_ski 1 Posted July 14, 2009 Ugh! :butbut: That's what I was afraid of! :( I played a little of SLX last night, and the AI is just, it just blows away what I experienced with ArmA's AI and that's with the use of mods made for it. Bummer. Any advice in regards to accomplishing this, I mean, is it even doable using alternate means to achieve the end results available in the scripts written for ArmA?
