Almost hand to hand distance with the Taliban footage.

Interesting stuff.

Very, very rare to actually see how close the engagements are getting.

They're very calm the Brits, even when they're engaging at extremely close ranges. Good on them.

I saw that one another forum recently, however the forums rules clearly state no posting of any footage involving real killing.

There's nothing on the vid to really prove that it happened.

Again, it's pretty tame stuff.

I think they're referring to Apache gunsight stuff and (obviously) some of the darker stuff you occasionally run into.

This was on page one of the Sun newspaper's website - and it didn't bother them.

"That's Taliban!"

He could have taken two steps and been able to touch some of those guys.

Well, just be careful. I'm sure placebo will decide if its ok or not.

I haven't seen Placebo lately...

*Awaits his expected sudden arrival*,

Its not like this is Off Topic from the game Arma2 or anything.

Nope, but there have been some very healthy debates about a) immersion b) modern soldiery c) in combat sounds / voices / etc.

And as this game is a modern combat simulator, and a good many of the posters have current military backgrounds I would have thought they'd have more place here than the Call of Duty forums.

In fact, I'd be actively encouraging general soldiery posts, videos, tactics, war stories etc as a huge amount of mission & mod creators (myself included) would love to create that perfect mission - and this stuff helps.

Or, of course, we could continue to crap on about Nvidia drivers - which I've given up doing (or reading) completely.

Still, it's technically lockable. Considering the Offtopic Description:

For discussions not strictly related to Operation Flashpoint. Topics should still be related in some way, for example: military, politics, science and other military games.

Just being the messenger :)

*Placebo is hiding, so I think its ok now*

Call me old fashioned, but doesn't this fall under the 'military' topic?

§19) Videos/Movies

No Video/movies, either posted or linked to shall contain any of the following.

Porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit footage. If something offensive is being shown in cartoon form it shall be treated as if the imagery were real and not simply cartoon. This also includes team killing or anything glorifying deliberate and or anti-social behaviour on any Public or Private server.

It also applies to sites that contain other videos which do break the above rules, two mouse clicks on that Liveleak link and I saw an IED video where soldiers were clearly killed, that also contravenes the forum rules, basically that whole video site is unacceptable here due to the content it hosts, if you want to post "safe" videos from it then you should download them and upload them to somewhere like youtube or somewhere similar.

The whole thread is also offtopic to ArmA2: General and would belong in the OT War on Terror thread for example.
