demowhc 10 Posted July 13, 2009 I have bought a legit copy of the game and was wondering if it is possible to use a no-cd patch on the game for online play, hate having to dig it out everytime I start the game.. thanks
Starfire 10 Posted July 13, 2009 There is no current legit no-cd patch available for Arma 2 currently. The developers did release a patch for Arma 1 quite a number of months after release that dispensed with the CD-check, so that might happen for Arma 2 as well eventually. Discussion of third-party nocd cracks of any kind here (whether you own the game or not) will get you a moderator warning here and a thread-lock at the very least. demowhc 10 Posted July 13, 2009 Why will I get a moderator warning? I asked if there was a no-cd patch... I was not discussing 3rd party cracks.
mr_centipede 31 Posted July 13, 2009 It's almost the same thing. very thin line. But as with OFP and ARMA1, we will have a patch that will remove the dvd check. But not anytime soon. probably next year or so (Just my speculation). You'll know when you know.

Placebo 29 Posted July 13, 2009 Ok thanks, am I able to transfer the retail CD-Key into my Steam account and dl the steam version? Also, online activation, I have heard people mention this but it hasnt asked to activate it at all.. Steam/DVD versions are separate and incompatible in the sense of CD-Key. DVD version does not require activation. I have bought a legit copy of the game and was wondering if it is possible to use a no-cd patch on the game for online play, hate having to dig it out everytime I start the game..thanks There is no official method for running the DVD version of the game without the DVD. As this touches on areas close to issues covered by the forum rules I'll close it now I've answered your questions :)
