After installing Windows XP on another partition and noticing my FPS degrade over time running SLI with the nVidia 186.18 drivers, I installed the new beta drivers that are mentioned in another thread here on this forum. New drivers are 186.24. After rebooting, I forgot to enable SLI and jumped straight into the game. I don't even have an Arma 2 profile since it was deleted with the new driver install. So far the game is exibiting the following qualities:

1 - No major loss of FPS with time. I test on the Superpowers mission on the Chernarus map

2 - Low FPS were expected but even 20FPS was a lot smoother/playable that 30+ FPS with SLI enabled with the nvidia SLI profile and 186.18 drivers.

3 - Overall texture quality was fantastic. Very little if any graphical corruption/pop ups in the distance when zooming in with right mouse button or binoculars.

I still need to perform more testing in the event that maybe this driver has something to do with it, but I wanted to report my preliminary findings here and solicit some feedback from you guys.

Yeah, it's possible. SLI is an additional layer on top of the standard rendering that's entirely able to create additional problems.

For me, I had major problems with my Nvidia 295 which manifested as soldiers with white heads and intensely slow and frustrating geometry rendering, up until I installed the EVGA SLI patch. With that on, i've not had a single 'doll-head' incident but I still do get rendering slowdown, the more I play the game.

For anyone that does use SLI (whether two separate cards or a single card with multiple GPUs) it's very easy to push into single GPU mode via the Nvidia Control Panel.

I run SLI and all is well, aside from crashes in the campaign which I fully expect to be fixed in a forthcoming patch. Single missions, multiplayer and anything created via the editor work fine, look good and have terrific frame rates.
