ubascouser 0 Posted July 8, 2009 Can someone please answer this now that aa has been enabled in the latest patch what does the fillrate do as i thought fillrate = aa.
llauma 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Fillrate enables you to render the game in a different resolution than your interface resolution. So if you play with 1360x768 pxl's resolution you can make the game render it at 2040x1152 (fillrate 150%) and scale it down which makes the edges less sharp. It's quite demanding though compared to AA.
Ish 11 Posted July 9, 2009 Imo, anything less than 100% looks very blurred..
no use for a name 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Imo, anything less than 100% looks very blurred.. as it should since it's running at a lower res (then upscaling) to your monitors res. i.e. looks extremely pixelated and blurry. Not sure why they let it go below 100% though since it's almost unplayable

Not sure why they let it go below 100% though since it's almost unplayable I think because most ppl have LCD monitor. And LCD monitor have their own native resolution which would look rather odd if we reset our monitor to other resolution... So with fillrate, my 19" monitor, native resolution 1280*1024, I can play at 1024*768 and look still abit decent. Not to mention huge... and a bit forgiving on the FPS too I might add.
