mr burns 133 Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) Heya Im hoping to get some help from the developers on the issue of signature checks kicking players that should´nt get kicked at all. It´s been reported by other gameserveradmins already and on the german BierAIG forums i´ve read that it might be caused by incapable clientside bandwithd (i.e. loading mission & custom files taking longer than the signature check allows), but it doesn´t really shine through to me. I´ve witnessed this faulty behaviour multiple times now on our dedicated server. On some occassions it would let players stay in the game for about 2 or 3 hours with no problems whatsoever, and then suddenly it goes: "Signaturer check timeout" (Zeitüberschreitung der Signaturüberprüfung)"player xyz got removed from the game" At least one of the guys affected by this is a trustworthy one, he bought the game and uses BI software since OFP, so i don´t think the fault is on his side. We also went through the whole addons folder with him cross-checking each addon and signature one by one. Everything seems to be okay on his side. His internetconnection is a german 16mbit DSL something. He is being hit harder than anyone else i´ve seen this happen with before. He gets kicked almost instantly after connecting to our server - longest time he´s ever made it must´ve been around 5 minutes. I am sure you will understand that this sucks, mostly for him, but also for his fellow clanmates. Really hoping to get some insight why this happens and how we can get rid of it other than having to deactivate signature checks (which isn´t going to happen). PS: Be aware that i will bump this thread (even knowing it´s against the rules) if it goes under in the unmoderated shitstorm of irrelevant newbie threads that keep popping up and make the troubleshooting section rather useless recently. [kh]jman 49 Posted July 7, 2009 Add the following to your server's server.cfg and restart your server: // Signature timeout fix regularcheck="{}";

RizlaG 10 Posted July 23, 2009 Our clan has just bought an Arma 2 server, yesterday, but one member cant join because of this signature check time out problem. I found this fix but the server config has already got it included in the config file. The clan member can join other servers, he tried about 6-7, without any problems and can join other members servers if they host. Could anyone tell me what makes this error ocure and is there anything in the server config I can change to help stop this? I have commented signature check out, changed any entry to signatures to 0 then back to 1 but nothing lets him on. To me it would sound alarm bells that its his side but as stated he can join other servers and we (8 members) can join ours and others.... This is weird  Riz ---------- Post added at 11:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ---------- Ok I fixed it weeeeeeeeee I voided these commands and he can join.... onDifferentData = "{}"; onHackedData = "{}"; Ours is a private server clan only so hacking is not an issue. Dont use this if your server is public, or at least I wouldnt recommend using it. Riz
whisper 0 Posted July 23, 2009 By doing so you kind of disabled signature check, though.... Not sure it's a good solution
RizlaG 10 Posted July 25, 2009 Its the only solution I could find. I would rather have clan members join a clan server than have them sit on the sidelines... Like I said its a clan server and passworded so no public to worry about. Until all the bugs are out of Arma 2 this is all we can do. Unless someone knows more???
