Preacher1974 0 Posted July 7, 2009 I'm running a server with a Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz and 4GB RAM under Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition. In our missions we typically get between 20 and 30 FPS on the server. The Windows Taskmanager, however, shows that none of the CPUs are close to maxing out, so why are we getting such low framerates? I would have expected to get close to the maximum of 50fps unless we were maxing out the CPU. Is there another bottleneck (eg memory, disk, network) that can cause the drop? Mickd 0 Posted July 7, 2009 what is the mission Precher. I put a few COOPs on our server and with 1 single player in the mission the server FPS is down to 20. Bear in mind our server can be run and has with over 80 human players at 30 server FPS.
spamurai 3 Posted July 7, 2009 My server bottoms out to 7 FPS running missions like Super Power, crCTI Warfare, War Simple ect ect. It's a 2.8 mhz Xeon Quad Core.

Bear in mind our server can be run and has with over 80 human players at 30 server FPS. The mission is a custom mission with about 60 AI on it and pretty much nothing else. I guess what I'm after is a deeper technical understanding of what limits the framerate on the server. From what I can see it's not CPU since I don't see any CPUs maxed out, so my question is what else is the bottleneck. Is it memory, disk, network or even client-related? Mojo 0 Posted July 8, 2009 CTI is a server burden. AI take up cycles too. If what you do is mostly COOP you can make adjustments to the arma.cfg file and adjust the min/max setting s till you get where you need to be. There are quite a few threads that touch on this topic here, a little searching should get you good info.
