It has a Intel 733MHz Processor and a Nvidia GPU, and a harddrive, so it is a PC. all you need is a good tv and your set, well you cant upgrade..but its faster than the majority of peoples PC's. I own one, and a PC...and I must say, visually there is no diffrence. Now you cant upgrade a console, but theres really no need. Plus on a HDTV ready TV, it can almost be better than a PC. Plus the only thing that is diffrent is that you cant DL upgrades, patches, etc. but I'm sure you will be able to in the near future...not on the Xbox but a future console probably. And I like it when people call products that they never owned pieces of shit, go hop on the band wagon to teh guy who said Xbox was just overhyped MS crap. NEO -PZ- 0 Posted March 12, 2002 When does HALO come for PC?
WisdoM 1 Posted March 12, 2002 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (NEO [PZ] @ Mar. 12 2002,09:27)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">When does HALO come for PC?<span id='postcolor'> Thats the beauty of Xbox, with the PS2 it takes a long series of complicated code in order to convert PC games to PS2, with the Xbox you change 1 or 2 variables and it's ready to ship. But to answer your question, I dont think you will see HALO on the PC. But HALO 2 is already being worked on..and that will more than likely be on PC. Now i'm not absolutely sure that HALO isnt going to be on PC, thats just my guess. But if M$ was smart they would release it on PC...the game is so freakin awesome! Angry Radish 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I have a dreamcast(now defunct), a PS2, and an X-box, and I say stay away from the X-box for now, unless you'r only into sports games. The graphics are great, as well as teh framerate, and there are a COUPLE of good titles, like HALO, but there aren't enough games out to even think about getting one yet. I grabbed one as soon as they hit the stores here in the US, played HALO and loved it, then after the next few titles, I started looking for something new, but all I could find were VERY poorly rated games. The X-box will definatly be the console to have if they would just put out some good titles on it. It's superior to the other consoles, but without good games, it's going to die. By summer '02 there should be another 100 titles ready to play. I'm really waiting on "The Matrix" though, looks sweet.
Angry Radish 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Yeah, the games in the pipeline are the only things keeping me from dumping the X-Box. I have to keep telling myself that the PS2 sucked for the first 6 months or so when it came out...
colt 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Don't forget that with consoles, software companies don't have to take into account numerous hardware configurations of their customers computers. They know what the exact systems specs to work with and so can produce / optimise games that don't have to be scaled down in order to appeal to the base user.
