new to the game

Hello all,

I am playing through the demo and i really like the way the game plays. However i have few questions maybe you pros can help me out with.

1. If i see enemy, how can i report its location to my team?

2. Is it possible to put accessories on weapons such as better scopes, silencers etc?

3. Allot of times i would see on the screen like a number of enemy "645432 Enemy", how do i interpret this info, is that a location on the map for the bad guys?

That's it, hope you guys can clear this up for me, as i sometimes find my self on the battlefield and i am not sure what is going on around me. I see communication going on the screen but i have no idea where the action is at. I usually find out when truck blows up behind me etc. :D

2. There aren't many different weapons avaliable in the demo and you change weapons rather than accessories.

3. They are map coordinates. Press M and zoom all the way in on the map.

I think the feeling of confusion is one of BI's most realistic features. :D

Thank you that helps, i just want to be more effective on the field. I just played few rounds on coop and i really love when people play together this game then shines.

2. Also how do i select grenades such as smoke, HE etc. If i am carrying ant-tank weapon i can select that with middle mouse button and then back to my primary gun. But the option for the grenades, hand gun, smoke is not there? Maybe its the limits of the demo not sure.

To access grenades and smoke grenades, just press F :). If you are carrying a handgun, then you can get to it the same way as the anti-tank weaponry. Hope this helps, and welcome to the game.

Not really any difference other than STeam doesn't have a CD and the benefit of not having Securom, of course the downside is download time.

Thank you guys, One thing i am curious what button is how you change the fire mode from single shot to burst or full auto? I looked under controls and i did not find it there? :)

That's F again, you generally press F to cycle through firemodes, then grenades, then back to firemodes again. It also cycles weapons in vehicles. :)

However, Semi Automatic is very recommendable, as you save a lot of ammo and you are generally more accurate. :p

Like Simon C said, you almost always want to use semi automatic fire. Saves you ammo, which can be hard to come by in some situations.

Small sidenote though:

Pressing and holding the right mouse button also holds your breath...

So it can happen that trying to spot enemies is tiring you out, i suggest changing the control layout a bit.

(personally i just removed the hold breath function completely, i never, never use it)

ohh wow i did not know that. no wounder why some of my shots were not landing on target. I will definitely move the breath function to another button. :)

I really only use hold breath in situations were first shot is really important, mostly sniping.

I always recommend reassigning hold breath and reveal target.

Do we have armor penetration in Arma 2 now? The old hit point system was my biggest issue with this otherwise fantastic series.
