GunSlingerAUS 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Hey lads The thread title says it all really - I've downloaded a handful of co-op missions for ARMA2, and installed them to the following directory: d:/steam/steamapps/common/arma 2/MPMissions But when I create a game to play with my pal, none of these missions are showing up. Any ideas?
Skulleye 0 Posted July 4, 2009 Try putting them in My Documents/ArmA2/MPMissions, maybe that'll make them show up.
GunSlingerAUS 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Thanks for the tip, but no, even after copying them to the documents\arma 2\MPmissions folder they're still not showing up. Any ideas? Btw - I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate Edition.
Ghost 40 Posted July 4, 2009 this has been mentioned before, try searching more. All mission pbo files need to be in the GAME directory which by default is C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\mpmissions and missions for sp pbos. The My Documents arma2 folder is for mission making. either sp editor (missions folder) or mp create new wizard (mpmissions folder)
GunSlingerAUS 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Hi Ghost, as you can see from my initial post, the directory you suggested is in fact the first directory I copied the missions to? Or must I install the game to the default directory for additional missions to work?
ProfTournesol 956 Posted July 4, 2009 Did you unzip the mission files ?
Flouncy 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Sounds like you didn't copy the files properly, and you've just made a shortcut to the real files, which are still in your downloads folder...
GunSlingerAUS 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Did you unzip the mission files ? Hmm, they've got the extension *.7z, which after a quick google appears to be a new type of zip file unsupported by Windows. Thanks for the tip! Can you recommend a decent unzipper that supports this file format and isn't full of bloat/spyware? And why doesn't the ARMA community support zip files instead - seems like everything ARMA related is unnecessarily difficult!
ProfTournesol 956 Posted July 4, 2009 If i remember well, winrar does unzip 7z files. And of course 7zip tool, but i don't like it.
Skulleye 0 Posted July 4, 2009 WinRAR is the best tool. I've not encountered a single packed file that couldn't be opened with it. It even supports .iso and such. www.rarsoft.com And remember that all missions are either a .pbo or I think they can be a folder with the contents too. Most of them are .pbo though.
