Pete 1 Posted March 13, 2002 ...to be a good soldier doesnt mean that you should not be afraid for your own life....to be a good soldier means that you should not hesitate taking someone elses life. its about killing, they dont train you to die in the army, they teach to kill (among other things). i would never go to a war, no matter the reason...never. its not cause i am afraid of my life, i just dont see why i should put it on risk cos of others problems..i dont see why i should kill others in the same situation as me, cos of others problems.....(others = goverments, leaders) the army is a nice place to be in tho, you get to learn a lot and come back as a stronger person, stronger body and a better knowledge of the limits (or the absence of such) of your body. but war?....i dont live my life to serve others, i never done so...never will. madmike 0 Posted March 13, 2002 But you lot are forgeting that only a tiny amount of troops are on the front line the margority are support like mechanics, logistics etc. Too many people think there is large risk of being killed when in the armed forces but the odds are tiny. Your probably more likely to die as a civvy beucase of dangers such as drugs and crazy nobs that dont give a fuck
