ZoneAlarm, for instance, keeps track of the permissions for each program that needs access to the Internet by matching it with a file signature, and when you patch OFP to another version, the signature will change. This causes ZoneAlarm to prompt for the desired access permissions when you try to play a MP game, but the dialog will be invisible because OFP is ordinarily a full-screen DirectX game. If you want to run OFP in a window so you can access the ZoneAlarm dialog, run it with the following command-line options: -window -x=800 -y=600 or something smaller than your Windows Desktop size. Now when ZoneAlarm pop up in the lower right corner, you'll be able to configure it for OFP. Once configured, you can run OFP without these parameters again. There are other software-based firewalls that behave similar to ZoneAlarm, so if you have another program, the general idea of running OFP in a window once may still apply. hkg3 0 Posted March 11, 2002 If you are running ZoneAlarm/ Pro 3.0 then it will probably not work even as Mr Fraq suggested, i did this in recent upgrade along with one of the other members of the squad and it would not allow us to join each others server. It showed us joined but from the other end all you got was "Wait For Server", we have emailed Zonealarm Tech support to see if there is something we missed, but we went through all the reports and opened ports that were blocked etc and still nothing.....
