Kuippa 10 Posted June 26, 2009 Is there any way to reduce that stupid mouse accelerator? This is the only game that has that awful mouse control. As I'm not used to this (and don't even want to cos this is the only game with so strange mouse accelerating) it's very hard to quickly target an enemy cos crosshair (or ironsight or anything like that) moves much quicker or slower than I really want. Changing mouse sensitivity helps nothing cos it doesn't affect the mouse acceleration. Maybe I just got to get used to it but I'm still wondering why even Counter Strike (which I played like 7 years ago) and actually EVERY other FPS I've ever played has better mouse control. Placebo 29 Posted June 26, 2009 No such problems here at all. Moving to Troubleshooting.
Armchair Allstar 10 Posted June 26, 2009 I have the same problem although I think it is due to mouse lag. I don't know why I'm getting it either as my framerate is usually around 45 and rarely dips below 30. I'm on Windows 7 RC 64 bit with Core i7 920 & 8800GT. Kuippa 10 Posted June 26, 2009 I mean that when I move the mouse slowly, it acts as in every other game. But when I move it a bit quicker, it moves VERY quick so it's kinda hard to aim at targets that are too far to slowly move the mouse but too close to be targeted without "overmoving" the mouse. And I don't think it has anything to do with lag. I'll just try to get used to it then :S
IronTrooper 0 Posted June 26, 2009 You can try to turn off 'Enhance pointer precision' in Windows Control Panel -> Mouse. If that doesn't help, it's probably a hardware problem (slow graphics card or cpu).

Well, my fps is very good so it's not about hardware and the game runs very smoothly. Aiming just feels very strange
horror1 10 Posted June 26, 2009 did u reduce in the gameoptions the x or y axis ( dont know exactly wich axis u want to move slower) i have my x axis ingame on zero so i have no accelaration like u report. or maybe u mean the floating zone wich makes ur mouse move within a specific area without moving the whole screen , if so try to reduce the floatingzone to zero and check if that is what u mean. Oh, okay I'll try those (i think i tried that axis thing but I thoguht it's like mouse sensitivity so I didn't reduce it to 0, only like halved it). And i didn't understand what that floatingzone does but ill try it anyway :)
Greg 0 Posted June 26, 2009 I know what you mean Kuippa. Aiming in ARMA 2 has an acceleration effect. If you do not take care you can spin way too fast or most so slowly it is hard to follow a moving target. I have not yet played with the X,Y mouse sliders in the controller configuration menu. Let us know what you find. The game is it is, is usable, but more configuration would be nice.
Big J Money 10 Posted June 26, 2009 I have this same problem at work, and I haven't played at home yet. The mouse acceleration is pretty bad for me. It's always hard to tell if its actual software acceleration or frame issues, but yes it's a pain for an FPS vet who isn't used to it.
