Falraen 10 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Hey! I have quite bad performance in arma 2 for some reason. My computer is: MB GA-EX58-EXTREME GPU ati radeon 4870x2 CPU intel i7 920 @ 3.2ghz Creative sound card (at work cant remember exact name) cant remember psu atm but i know its powerful enough 3 x 2GB Xtreem Tri-Channel kit, DDR3 1866MHz Team group 24" widescreen Now for the main problem. I get around 12-38 fps while playing the game and video settings have very little effect on my fps. Only setting that seems to have some effect is texture quality (im not sure if i remember the name right but the setting that is on top of video memory anyway). Btw havent tried setting my resolution to higher then my default 1920x1200 Heres the strange thing. I can get crossfire to work with -winxp command but it doesnt improve my fps. My gpu cores are never working at 100% with or without crossfire and it seems that when crossfire is on my 2 gpus do the exact same amount of work just sharing it that one gpu does without crossfire. CPU also is never going at 100% not even one core and all cores are being used. Hope someone can help me because i cant really enjoy the game as it is. PS: Until yesterday i had older mb with E6850 core 2 duo (again not 100% sure of the name but the one that is on default clocks 3.0ghz). And had some pretty nice ddr2 corsair memory on it and i had the same problem. new cpu did however increase my fps by like 2-4 Edited June 26, 2009 by Falraen

rowdied 44 Posted June 27, 2009 Try installing ati tray tools at guru3d and renaming the exe to crysis or fear, use -winxp command. Look here for more answers http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=75362
Edgecrusher2112 10 Posted June 27, 2009 I've got a Core Duo E8400 3.0Ghz, and an ATI 4870 x2 and I'm still getting poor performance. There's literally no point me playing the game until it runs better. I've tried everything, like you guys. It's a real shame. In the towns, big towns, I drop to 8fps. 159th_Viper 10 Posted June 27, 2009 Installed ATT a while ago......Asus 4870x2 still runs only one GPU in ARMA II and that is with the .exe renaming too.
Edgecrusher2112 10 Posted June 27, 2009 The exe naming thing worked for me. With little performance gain though... I find I have to make a shortcut with the renamed exe. Also, Catalyst AI has to be enabled.
kklownboy 43 Posted June 27, 2009 Installed ATT a while ago......Asus 4870x2 still runs only one GPU in ARMA II and that is with the .exe renaming too. well you dont have to rename the .exe for CF or CFX to work in ARMA2. the rename is for the wacked out bloom/strobe that happens right now with arma2.exe. You do need the CCC, and you have to have CF on and the Cat-AI enabled AND if you are using vista, you HAVE to use the -winxp flag. "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Crysis.exe" -winxp -nosplash -maxmem=2047
