JaKe.OnE 10 Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Hi! [Maybe this is not the rigth forum for this.] Where can I find the netlog file which was cretaed by the start parameter "-netlog" in ArmA 1? This parameter seems not to work or write the file to an unknown place. Can someone please advice? --Jake Edited June 24, 2009 by JaKe.OnE

[kh]jman 49 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) -netlog only works if you use ARMA2's Patch 1.02 Updated (Build 58134) executable and run it with the -server switch. The drawback of using the ArmA2.exe as a dedicated server however is that if you are using the 505 install it will require the DVD to be inserted into the server's drive on launch. At the moment the 1.02b dedicated server exe does not support the -netlog command. It is created in the ArmA2 root directory. You should get something like the following written to it on successful launch 0.000: NetLogger: start - Fri Jul 03 13:31:36 2009 0.000: Clk(2400020000) 7.834: ArmA2 version: 1.02 7.891: 13:31:43 Dedicated host created. 7.894: Fac:start(1.1,2.2,'WinSock 2.0','Running',32767,65467) 8.562: Par: 1.1,65535,1490,90,3,400000,2,4000,600,2000000,400,0,6000000,1.040,1000.0,0.980,3000000,3000000,65536 8.562: Par: 2.50,150000.0,400,15,0.1500,0.1000,0.0500,0.0200,2.20,30000.0,1.80,20000.0,1.40,10000.0,1.10,3000.0,1.40,1.20 8.562: Par: [0.900,20.0] [0.980,10.0] [1.000,0.0] [1.020,20.0] [1.100,40.0] [1.300,50.0] 8.580: Fac:cp(2304,65507,65535,8192) 8.580: Fac:cp(1,2,65467,'MSAFD Tcpip [uDP/IP]') 8.594: Ch(0):open(192.168.1.69:2304 <-> 255.255.255.255:0) 8.595: Pe(0):succ(192.168.1.69:2304) 8.595: Pe(0):list(2304) 8.639: Fac:cp(2302,65507,65535,8192) 8.640: Fac:cp(1,2,65467,'MSAFD Tcpip [uDP/IP]') 8.641: Ch(1):open(192.168.1.69:2302 <-> 255.255.255.255:0) 8.641: Pe(1):succ(192.168.1.69:2302) 8.641: Pe(1):srv 8.641: Pe(1):list(2302) 8.641: Pe(1):srv(2302,'-=Kellys Heroes=- Jman's Test Server',623191333) 8.849: Pe(0):cli 8.851: 13:31:44 Host identity created. RN Escobar 0 Posted July 3, 2009 i had asked Jman via PM on KH forums and was about to post the same reply. @Jman - Is there any performace hit in using the regular exe with the -server switch over the beta dedicated server exe? my thoughts are that in these early days it is more usefull to have the records of player names ID's IP's etc etc to start collecting information about players behaviour for use in banning, IP banning and generally keeping an eye on whats going on in the servers. however as i am trying to sell servers i also don't want a masive performance drop to hinder the interest of any prospective clients. [kh]jman 49 Posted July 3, 2009 There is no performance hit that I am aware of.
Orton 0 Posted July 3, 2009 i rented a server so is it then a different story or the same to get the netlog to work?
RN Escobar 0 Posted July 4, 2009 same story, get in touch with your hosts and ask them to use the regular game exe with the -server switch instead of the dediserver exe should take em 2 minutes to alter the startup line from: D:\servers\ArmA2\ArmA2Server.exe -port=2303 -server=server -config=server.cfg -cfg=arma2.cfg -netlog to D:\servers\ArmA2\arma2.exe -server -port=2303 -server=server -config=server.cfg -cfg=arma2.cfg -netlog obviously you need to alter the directory and hames of various files but the big difference is ArmA2Server.exe changes to arma2.exe -server
[kh]jman 49 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) if you want the config files in the ArmA2 root dir it should be: D:\servers\ArmA2\arma2.exe -server -port=2303 -config=server.cfg -cfg=arma2.cfg -netlog -server=server is not a valid switch, -name is but you only need that if you are specifying a subdir structure in the launch line Edited July 4, 2009 by [KH]Jman
Orton 0 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) the only thing i see as a start up is this line -config=server.cfg -netlog -ip=213.163.69.35 -port=2302 -profile=D:\localuser\G7300 -rankings=ranks I ask the company where i rent it but they say it cant be done because they need a key for every server. So i think i need to wait with the -netlog. Edited July 5, 2009 by Orton
