C0ntrol 0 Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) Hello everyone! My problem is that when I install ArmA 2 and try to run it nothing happens. I have also noticed that after install when I put in the disc and the autorun box appears, the "Play" option is marked with gray colour, resulting me being unable to click it. While checking the error logs I noticed that every time I have run the game, it has caused an error and the game has crashed without any specific reason. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if one has, how has the problem been solved? I have tried to patch the game from the boxed version to 1.02 but this hasn't solved the problem. I have also tried to run it as an administrator and in compatibility mode with different Vista and XP versions. Phew, I hope that's all I can tell about the problem... edit: I also searched for Bohemia Interactive folder from my Registry files but it is not there. Could that be the reason my game is not starting? edit2: Managed to find the folder, so don't mind the upper edit Edited June 23, 2009 by C0ntrol Added more info

bluesteel 0 Posted June 23, 2009 This will not help you, but I can say that ArmA 2 does not always fail on Win7 x64. I am running the german download version for over a month now on Win7 x64. No compatibility mode or other tricks were neccessary for that version, but maybe you run into some issue with the copy protection on the disc. I do not have any antivirus software in the background and have User Account Control (UAC) disabled. So you could try disabling UAC (Control Panel -> User Accounts -> "Change User Account Control Settings") and disabling your antivirus and other background software before you try re-installing the game. Taskinen 10 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm having the exactly same problem. I got my disc today from Play.com and I am running a 64 bit Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 and Radeon HD4870X2 with Catalyst 9.6 drivers. All updates installed to Windows and the 1.02 patch to ArmA2. Not running UAC and tried both: anti-virus on and off. Seems to install OK, but autorun shows Play button grayed and manually starting the game from shortcut doesn't do anything. C0ntrol 0 Posted June 23, 2009 I got it working now. I had to take off the anti-virus software from my F-Secure. I bet the problem lurks in Suckarom protection.

Zladek 10 Posted November 7, 2009 Hey! I have exactly the same problem! I've tested and Arma is fully installed and ready to go, but when try to start it, the start screen comes visible and the play button is grey! I'm totally confused... After that if you click the "X" to close window there comes a message "Arma 2 has stopped working". I live in Finland, and i bought it last weekend and it should be pretty "new in town" game. Help me! Zladek loosing his mind...

Placebo 29 Posted July 9, 2010 You need to try to provide some more details before anyone can help you. Have you at least tried updating the firmware of your DVD drive? Are you running any kind of firewall that may be restricting the game from accessing the Securom server (assuming it might be a Securom issue where it's not activated and is trying to call home), did you get any errors messages on install? Has it ever worked?
