dmarkwick 261 Posted June 23, 2009 This has happened a couple of times now, occasionally my PCs internal speaker will start beeping, sounding very much like an electronic alarm clock. A series of 4 closely spaced short beeps, a gap, then repeat, about 10 or so times. beep-beep-beep-beep ... beep-beep-beep-beep ... beep-beep-beep-beep ... beep-beep-beep-beep ... etc. I have NEVER heard my PC make this noise before, even when building the thing and going through the various startup-beeps at various stages of build & troubleshooting. The above has happened while in the editor, running various scripts as part of my development for ArmA2. The first time it happened, I was just running about as a dog through a town. The second time, I was walking as a soldier through a town. Both occasions were testing different scripts, and both occasions were after a considerable time of no previous troubles. neurojazz 10 Posted June 23, 2009 Check on the net for 'beep codes' for your motherboard. Usually it means a componant is failing - or getting too hot and shutting down to prevent damage... also many other things... hence the beep 'codes' :)

Alex72 1 Posted June 23, 2009 Sounds like RAM stick problem maybe? One of the RAM's memory modules has broken and when you do something in game where it fills the RAM's up and comes to that broken module - it warns you something is wrong. Im not sure that this is the case ofcourse. "BEEP CODES" for your MoBo brand is needed to know exactlly whats wrong. Hope you get it sorted. If you dont find the codes - test removing 1 RAM stick if you have more than 1. And test them 1 by 1. Or run a RAM test program: MEMTEST Good luck. Razorman 10 Posted June 23, 2009 That's your temperature alarm sounding for the cpu, it's a heat problem. Check your bios read outs & make sure the cpu is not getting too hot, increase the alarm threshold by a few degrees & you won't hear it again, don't ignore it though, you may be close to frying your cpu. You're right, it is indeed a temperature warning :) as soon as temp monitor #1 gets to 60, it beeps. Which officially makes ArmA2 the most CPU intensive program I have, which is weird as I use all kinds of intensive apps and none of them has ever stressed the system like armA2.. (Ones that use multi-cores too :))
Padjur 10 Posted August 9, 2009 same as that! Arma2 is the only software that has pushed my pc. with mine it was the memory temp, although the cpu was quiet hot as well. I enabled a temperature software package that came with the motherboard (for overclocking ,which I never do) and temps are all good now.
