Graphics cards problems

Recommended Posts

Just upgraded from a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI which worked fine to the Hercules AGP. The new card works fine on the desktop but any games I'm trying to run are crashing.

Cursors stick, screens flicker and break down. Games seize up totally. Then when I return to the desktop its also corrupted though still working.

I'm in the process of looking for new drivers but anybody come across this before?

I'm running a PIII 667 256MB Win 98 DX8.1

Since your previous card (which worked fine) was a PCI one, and the new one is an AGP one, I suggest you look in that direction for the problem.

Also, it happens with ALL games, right?

Latest Herc drivers...

XP

2K

9X

I use the latest Herc drivers for XP and Opf runs great, did you uninstall your V3 properly? As in deleting every trace of 3dfx you could find? Boot into safe mode, have a look under display adaptor to see if you only have your Herc listed there.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm getting there. OFP currently runs really well during the ( game ) day but I have severe problems at night. The landscape turns yellow and transparent! Hopefully by tomorrow...

Or even tonight! Thanks 'P', those drivers seem to have done the trick. Fingers crossed none of my other games throw up any little gremlins now.

I remember why I waited so long to update my hardware. Next time I'll just buy a new machine from scratch!
