FPS keeps dropping/freezing

If anyone could please help that would be great.

No matter how much i change every settings from the 3d performance to seetings in the config file while i'm playing all of a sudden and at random points (sometimes the same place and sometimes not) the fps drop to anything between 3 -15!!.

If i change my direction it sometimes improves however it WILL ALWAYS improve if i go into to video settings and change something so the screen has to refresh and my fps shoot straight back up to 40 - 50 in exactley the same place????

What is also weird is that as i said is that i can play the same bit over with higher and lower settings and it not do it?

I am confused as to what the problem might be and how to fix it as i've had the game now for 5 days all of which has been spent trying to fix this problem as i can only play for 5 - 10 minutes ago reset something in the videio settings, carry on for another 5 - 10 minutes and so on. This is also annoying when i am on multiplayer.

sounds like maybe a vid memory issue. What kind of vid card are you using?

Could you check your CPU and GPU temperature?

I have a 9800 gx2 and have just put the fans to 100% will monitor gpu temp. and the cpu is 28. I will monitor and see how i get on and update you if i have any further issues. Many thanks

I have the exact same problem.

It was playable until i got to chernogorsk (Spelling? The largest town on the map anyway). There it got unplayable, I tried to put down my settings to lowest on 800x600 and i still get freezes in that town in the editor when running around, looking around zooming through my scope fast.

When standing still my fps at highest settings stay at 30+.

When monotoring it seems like the Cpu load is maxed out, Gpu is at 50%.

Nothing overheats.

Specs: Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2,6 Ghz), 3GB RAM, HD4870 1GB. Thats over optimal req.
