wiper 0 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) A feature that i wished to have since OFP: A game menu entry (formations|more ?) which enables to widen and tighten the formations, i.e. the separations between the AI team members, ideally in 5 steps (very tight, tight, normal, loose, very loose - whereas 'tight' pretty much should reflect our current situation in Arma2 i'd suggest). Very often in situations they are too close resulting in a single grenade wiping out almost a whole squad. Isn't it time to have such a prominent feature for this marvellous game ? What do you think, guys ? Edited June 22, 2009 by Wiper

frederf 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Good gravy, I remember having an option for "interval" in the command menu ages ago. Good times!
raynor 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Good gravy, I remember having an option for "interval" in the command menu ages ago. Good times! Sure you weren't playing Rome/Medieval/Empire total war? Good idea though, I'd like to be able to set how many people I want to die from a single grenade hit instead of the default 3 it is at now.
frederf 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Scaled geometry formation interval would be a "%" function to be sure. This would allow aircraft and infantry to use the same interval control. As we know formations are config'd to be very specific delta changes from the leader position in meters. There already must be some multiplicative factor in for aircraft and land vehicles since they obviously don't try to hold the exact same (+/-X, +/- Y) values from the leader as infantry do, they would collide. The delta X and delta Y values would simply be multiplied based on orders. "200% interval" would have displacements for all the formation slots twice as much as default.
