1.02 - low detail textures

Recommended Posts

Since I installed the 1.02 patch I'm getting very low detail textures, game can't seem to make up it's mind when to load hi LOD textures unless I'm really, really close to an object. I can be looking at a tree in the middle distance and it'll look all crisp but the tree right in front of me can look like a water colour painting.

Sometimes if I stare at something long enough it'll load the high LOD texture, sometimes not.

Messing with every graphics setting there is seems to have no effect.

Before patch everything looked great. Now: Shite.

running on AMD 4600 dual core, 2Gb RAM, ATI Radeon 1950.

had this issue as well, lower your texture and/or your vid mem settings this fixed the issue for me.

I also have this issue with the trees and bushes (especially the red ones) looking like water color paintings. I was messing with the settings yesterday and the only thing that made this problem go away is setting the texture detail and video memory to very high, but this causes performance issues since my HD4850 has only 512Mb memory and setting the textures higher than normal strangely doesn't affect my FPS that much but makes the animations during cutscenes in the campaign stutter.

Lowering the settings to normal or low and setting the video memory to low or default doesn't solve anything.

It seems like the game uses the distant LOD for some trees and bushes even if I stand close to them which is strange since some of the distant trees look better than the one that's only a few meters away from me.

I had this issue with the 1.01 version also.

Its hillarious when a tree suddenly pops into full view, like some kinda magic growth spurt.
