Why ArmA 2 is coming to steam 30 June?

Why so late in europe when it is already released in stores? I really would like to buy it from steam because it is fastest way for me but I hate that I have to wait for 1 week.

Its not really about europe at all actually, it falls more in line with the US release date which is where Valve is located. Also the release date on Steam is actually a day after the retail release in stores in the US.

Steam is getting the game in it's patched state of 1.02, that patch has to be incorporated into the steam version before release, that's the reason for the delay, the answer is on these forums but takes a little searching.
