4 difficulty modes: veteran, etc

In the previous version, the command to determine difficulty mode was cadetMode, to determine cadet or veteran mode.

Now there are 4 difficulty modes: [recruit, regular, veteran, expert].

Q: How do you determine which is the current difficulty mode? (In order to allow the mission to adjust itself to suit.)

I thought maybe you could work around it using class CfgDifficulties and difficultyEnabled, but no luck.

One more question about the same. Can difficulty be forced by the mission? For example like I want to remove all markers and other stuff from the HUD.

My friend and I want to play through the campaign in coop, but we dont want all the enemy locations etc on the hud,

which setting should we use?
