WKK Gimbal 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Many people seem to underestimate the performance of Russian military equipment, despite that those pieces of equipment that we DO have clear facts about, all have proven extremely effective. I'm talking about the Hind, ZSU, AK47, AK74, Dragunov SVD, not to mention the bloody Ural, which is widely acclaimed as the best all-terrain truck ever build in human history, despite the design hasn't changed for decades. So how come that Russian tanks, which of little is known, should be so poor? Maybe Russia havn't had the economical and technological backup as the west, but don't underestimate an inventive mind. Everyone is talking about Russian military machine, like they know everything about it, even if they haven't even SAW an actual Russian tank IRL!!! I can tell (by experience) that Russian military equipment is HIGHLY reliable. Not very comfortable, but working. And is repairable in the field. Allmost everything is working by simple mechanically, not by electornics. And for AK-series, it IS the most common weapon in the world. And not only by its cheapness... Armies don't buy a weapon 'cause it is cheap, but cause it is usefull... BTW, West haven't ever forgot about Russian military power... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
